Exhibition at the Architektur Galerie Berlin

2025-10-23

What shapes our actions? Is it origin, memory, habit – or the quiet longing to leave traces behind?
Every designed landscape, every urban open space is a resonance chamber of our thinking, a mirror of our inner images. Our actions form an open stage for our coexistence. And behind this stage stand people – those who design the spaces – who consciously or unconsciously charge them with personal memories, attitudes, and individual visions.
Thus, what we create in the outer world is always a reflection of what lives within.

Exhibition dates: October 31 – December 6, 2025
Vernissage: October 30, 2025, 7:00 PM
Gallery talk: December 4, 2025, 6:00 PM
Moderation: Annabelle von Reutern

The exhibition POETIC LANDSCAPES by the Berlin-based landscape architecture office POLA at the Architektur Galerie Berlin makes the personalities behind the designs visible.
It does not present projects, but ways of thinking.
It raises questions: Why do we do what we do? What stories shape our thinking, our actions, our designs? Who are the creative minds behind the open spaces that thousands of people use and enjoy every day? What defines their work, their decisions, their lives?

Through nearly 300 personal artefacts from the office and the environment of its team members, individual “soul landscapes” become visible – inner worlds that profoundly shape the poetic landscapes of POLA, the landscape architecture studio founded in 2009 in Berlin and now active both nationally and internationally.
The exhibition turns its gaze toward the people behind POLA’s projects – toward their worldview, their delight in experimentation, their ability to condense dreams and longings into spaces and transform them into poetry.

The exhibition POETIC LANDSCAPES opens our eyes to landscapes – and to the people who shape them.
