Opening of the Kreativ Quartier Potsdam
On Friday, September 4, 2026, the Kreativ Quartier in Potsdam was officially opened. The ceremony took place in the central square in the heart of the district and featured speeches by Dr. Manja Schüle, Minister of Science, Research, and Culture for the State of Brandenburg, and Noosha Aubel, Mayor of the state capital Potsdam, among others. Media interest was high - RBB and RadioEins, among others, reported on the opening. Well into the early evening, many residents of Potsdam took the opportunity to explore the new neighborhood in the heart of their city.
At the Kreativ Quartier, POLA designed outdoor spaces covering a good 5,000 square meters that connect the ensemble of seven buildings. While the architectural designs - all created by the team at &MICA - give each building its own character and visual identity, the outdoor spaces serve as the connecting element that lends the neighborhood its overall design coherence. The planting design plays a special role here. Thanks to the approximately 1,500 square meters of planting areas, which have been planted with more than 21,000 perennials, geophytes, and shrubs, a green oasis unlike any other is emerging right in the middle of Potsdam’s stone-lined city center.
