Together with Schulz und Schulz Architekten, we positioned the new Fraunhofer Institute building in Bonn in such a way that a small pocket park is created, into whose greenery one immerses upon approaching from the surrounding area. Generously planted beds of perennials, grasses and shrubs incorporate canopy-shaped trees that cast a gentle, dappled shade — honey locusts, golden rain trees and pagoda trees — which rise above a few tables and stools and a central reflecting pool. A place to find a moment of calm during a short break.
Third place it is — we'll drink to that, and look forward to what's next!
